After several years in the making, Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina recently opened its gates for rockers of all ages. This 55-acre theme park boasts more than 50 attractions, including roller coasters, live entertainment, restaurants, retail stores and children's play areas. The park is built around six "rock environs" that are themed to specific genres of music, including Born in the USA, British Invasion, Cool Country and Lost in the 70's.
The signature ride is the Led Zeppelin coaster, designed with feedback from rock gods Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Other neat features of the park include a two-story double-necked guitar fountain and a karaoke queue line for the ride Maximum RPM! The park also offers an array of music memorabilia, such as Elvis' motorbike and original sketches by John Lennon. And rock stars can make their mark here with a couple of coats of spray paint on the graffiti wall. Local bands play throughout the day and admission to most concerts in the on-site arena is included in the entrance fee. The nightly highlight is a choreographed lakefront firework display to the sound of Bohemian Rhapsody.
After a long day of rock star thrills, return to comfortable and spacious accommodations when you stay Sheraton Broadway Plantation.
