Tuesday October 28, 2008A Heavenly Flying Experience with Westin and United
Monday October 6, 2008
For nearly a decade, guests at Westin hotels around the world have enjoyed blissful nights of sleep on Westin Heavenly Beds, ten layers of pure comfort atop the most sensuous of mattresses. Now, in an unprecedented collaboration, Westin has partnered with United Airlines to bring the Westin Heavenly experience to air travel. Select United Red Carpet Clubs in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, for example, feature custom-designed Westin Renewal Lounges outfitted with luxurious touches to help travelers relax before their flights. Look out for the signature Westin design and lighting, special daybeds and ottoman tables, and multiple sensory elements, including scent, video, food and beverage, and botanicals. And in the business and first-class sections on United's premium service (p.s.) flights between New York's JFK airport and California, travelers will enjoy the signature Heavenly blanket and pillow, which are just the thing to get some much-needed shut-eye during the cross-country flight. Several other elements will introduce fliers to the Westin Difference as well, including custom audio and video content, white tea mints and antibacterial towelettes, and a SuperFoods-inspired cocktail served on a Westin brainbody coaster. With the new Westin/United partnership, the flying experience just got a little more civilized.

Plan Ahead For A Super Vintage Weekend at the Hotel Marqués de Riscal
Thursday July 17, 2008
Some of the finest wines in Spain will be flowing this October 24-26 as the Frank Gehry-designed Hotel Marqués de Riscal hosts the Super Vintage Weekend. Plan ahead for this unique event that celebrates the 150th anniversary of the foundation of Vinos de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal winery in Rioja. It's sure to be a weekend to remember for oenophiles and casual wine enthusiasts alike. An exclusive Live Charity Auction of rare Riscal wines, coordinated by famed auction house Christie's, will culminate in the Riscal Superlot, a single lot consisting of 131 vintages dating back to 1862. While wines from that era don't come cheap, the knowledge that all proceeds go to support children's charities makes it that much easier to splurge. To top it all off, the Gala Dinner will pair some of the most inspiring wines with tantalizing regional cuisine from Michelin-starred chef Francis Paniego, whose mastery of Rioja and Basque cuisine makes the hotel a destination for culinary travelers the world over.
Movie Night at the Westin New York at Times Square
Friday June 13, 2008
Starwood recently teamed up with American Express to offer a special experience for 150 SPG members lucky enough to snatch up a ticket: a private screening of Life in Flight at the Westin New York at Times Square during the Tribeca Film Festival.
Tickets sold out in three hours for the exclusive event, making it one of the hardest tickets to come at this year's festival of independent films. Each guest was given an SPG Amex branded cloth tote bag with customized M&Ms, a Tribeca Film Festival cap and the Zagat 2008 Movie Guide. After the film, a thoughtful relationship drama starring Patrick Wilson and Amy Smart, one of the executive directors of the Tribeca Film Festival did a Q&A session with the audience.
"This event totally fulfilled my expectations," said one attendee. "It was a way to have access to the film festival with an interesting discussion afterwards. As an average person outside the entertainment industry, I felt like I had a look in."
