If winter has you feeling a little blue, make your way to Phoenix, where one of the most exciting music events of the year unfolds on the grassy slopes of the Mesa Amphitheater. Blues Blast 2010 will be held on Saturday, February 27, bringing together the biggest names in blues for a day-long festival that will have you moving to the music in no time. This year's headliner is Big James Montgomery and the Chicago Playboys, a Living Blues Critic's Choice Award-winning outfit that plays original hits inspired by the clubs and music halls of Chicago's south side. Joining Big James will be Candye Kane, a blues singer and songwriter from Los Angeles whose music embraces themes of love and loss, hope and triumph. Don't miss the Sugar Thieves (pictured), a Phoenix-area band that combines a sultry blues foundation with a danceable groove. And if you feel like taking your dancing to the next level, you can learn to do the Lindy Hop, as the Arizona Lindy Hop Society will provide a dance floor and free dance lessons for all aspiring dancers. Put on your dancing shoes and join the fun. Starwood has hotels throughout the Phoenix area, including the Sheraton Crescent Hotel.
