Starpoints Go Further Than Ever in 2009

Arion_Resort_pool.jpgHere's some big news for SPG members looking forward to traveling this year. Your Starpoints will go further than ever in 2009 with the elimination of peak-season Starpoints pricing at Category 5-7 hotels and hotel category updates that reduce the number of Starpoints required for Free Night Awards at many properties. Effective immediately, Category 5 properties require only 12,000 Starpoints for a free night, Category 6 properties require just 20,000 Starpoints, and Category 7 hotels require 30,000 Starpoints, a savings of 5,000 Starpoints. That adds up to substantial savings at some of the world's most exclusive hotels and resorts, so let the trip-planning begin. Let's say you're craving some time on a beach in Greece. Arion, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Astir Palace, Athens (pictured) is now a Category 5 hotel, down from Category 6 as of March 2, 2009, so you can enjoy a free night starting at just 12,000 Starpoints. With five-star hospitality, superior service, and incomparable luxuries at every turn, a free night or two at this singular resort is about as good as it gets. Of course, Athens is just one of many destinations that just got a little closer, so visit the updated category list now to see where your supercharged Starpoints can take you.
