Kissing Your Way To Kennedy

Monday August 11, 2008

With the AirTrain whisking passengers from Jamaica Station to Kennedy Airport in mere minutes, I'm not sure why one would take a car. But if you simply must ride in the leathery comfort of an automobile, skip the taxi, skip the circling, and try out a new way to beat the traffic.

Sure, you can have some of your biggest life revelations en route to the airport and watching your lover drive off into the Queens sunset after leaving you misty-eyed at Terminal 2 is the stuff romantic comedies are made of. But hey love bugs, we're in the 21st century now, an era when transportation technology calls for new ways to get jiggy. Take Kiss 'N Fly for example. The cutely named parking lot lies just off the Van Wyck Expressway. Exit at Lefferts Boulevard. Park. Smooch. Then hop on the AirTrain for a free 10-minute ride to the airport. Fix your lipstick on the way. When it's time to get picked up, try another option. Have your friend wait in the Cell Phone Lot, one of those rare and wonderful airport advancements masterminded by some genius. As soon as your ride gets your call they'll slip sleekly from one of the 70 spaces situated near the airport entrance, and cruise up to the curb where you'll be waiting, cool, calm, and collected.

Now if only you were flying out of LaGuardia, Just three miles from the airport, the lovely Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel provides a free shuttle. No kissing necessary.
