Fort Lauderdale has a lot more to offer than just miles of beautiful beaches and abundant restaurants and bars, although I sure do love that stuff. It's also the home to one of the country's best science museums, the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Discovery and Science. The Museum of Discovery and Science has a pretty large area of expertise, with exhibits that explore everything from the core of the earth to the farthest reaches of space. On the local level, the Florida Ecoscapes and Living in the Everglades exhibits give visitors an up-close and personal look at the plants and animals on both sea and land in South Florida. It's worth a visit just to see the largest Atlantic coral reef in captivity. And for those whose dreams are always in the stars, Runways to Rockets: Our Place in Aerospace has interactive exhibits that show how astronomers use radio waves and light and how to launch a space vehicle. That's what I call news you can use. It's safe to say that Starwood has Fort Lauderdale covered, with eight properties in and around the area, including the luxurious Atlantic Resort & Spa.
