I finally took my kids and wife to Walt Disney World after a wait of two years. We got very lucky and stayed at the Dolphin. I heard all sorts of things about the Swan and Dolphin (pictured) prior to the trip so I really didn’t know what to expect. We flew JetBlue, so the kids were fine and pretty much immobilized during our trip down to Florida from New York. I arranged a limo for our pickup so I told the kids to look for a man with a little funny cap holding a sign with our name. We found the man down in baggage claim just as promised and he took us to the Dolphin. We were all SO excited as we got closer, we saw the HUGE Swan’s on the outside of the building and I wasn’t sure what to expect on the inside. The inside was nicely decorated but we were anxious to see what the room was like. The room was very nice; however, we followed the guidebooks which told you to nap mid-day so the kids don’t get burnt and overtired. So we went back to our room; but unfortunately they were doing some renovation right under our room and no one was able to get any sleep. We called downstairs to ask them to stop hammering for an hour, but then the sawing started. We called again and security came up. They apologized and moved us to another floor. The communication between the concierge, security, housekeeping was just amazing, and we kept getting follow-up calls which would typically have been great but we were trying to get the kids some sleep.
