A piece of South Florida history recently vanished in a cloud of dust. Literally. On November 18th, the Sheraton Bal Harbour was imploded. Known as the Americana Hotel when it opened 1956, the hotel was once one of the most glamorous resorts in South Florida and a favorite of celebrities and the Secret Service, because visitors could safely enter the hotel through its underground parking lot. Frank Sinatra and the "Rat Pack" were common fixtures at its Carnival Supper Club. Presidents John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton stayed there.
With the implosion of Sheraton Bal Harbour, a space is now cleared for the newest addition to the St. Regis collection, the St. Regis Resort & Residences, Bal Harbour due to open in 2010. Situated just across Collins Avenue from the Bal Harbour Shops, the renowned shopping center, just steps from the spectacular seaside scenery and minutes from the electrifying nightlife of South Beach, St. Regis Resort & Residences, Bal Harbour is positioned as the ultimate address in this exclusive beachfront enclave. This five-star resort hotel and condominium will also feature Residences for whole and fractional ownership. Rising 27 stories above nine acres, this destination offers breathtaking views of lushly landscaped gardens and 1,000 feet of pristine white sand on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
The signature St. Regis Butlers will offer white-glove service, from 24-hour in-room dining to pet pampering, while RemédeSM Spa will provide the ultimate spa experience and a state-of-the-art fitness center. Everyday indulgences will also include fine dining restaurants, childcare, poolside cabanas and beach services.
Should you choose this address through fractional ownership, enjoy access to an exclusive list of destinations in the Starwood Residence Club, including The St. Regis Residence Club, New York; St. Regis Residence Club, Aspen; and The Phoenician Residences, The Luxury Collection Residence Club, Scottsdale.
Completion of St. Regis Resort & Residences, Bal Harbour is scheduled for late 2010. For more information on this spectacular future property, peruse the ebrochure.
