Spring has finally arrived, which means it's a great time to get out and appreciate the natural beauty that's been in hiding throughout the winter. The Kansas City Star reminds us that most major cities have botanical gardens that offer guided tours to help point out plants and other features that visitors might miss just strolling through. New York's Brooklyn Botanic Garden, for example, offers several guided tours, including the "Meet the Curator" tour that highlights some of the more unique features of the garden, such as a cluster of papayas at the top of a tree, or a delicate orchid, seemingly floating in the air. The Atlanta Botanical Garden, meanwhile, offers docent-led tours every Tuesday that are included in the price of admission. Be sure to check out the Desert Rose, currently in bloom. The Chicago Botanic Garden offers all kinds of tours, such as an Earth Day walk (April 28) in search of wildflowers. You'll find a Starwood property in pretty much every city with a garden park, such as the Westin Chicago River North, located just a half hour from the Chicago Botanic Garden.
