Tunica, Mississippi is the third most popular gambling destination in the United States, and while many of its attractions are on par with Las Vegas or Atlantic City, it offers one great thing they don't have: Southern hospitality. The Louisville Courier-Journal points out that Tunica not only boasts great casinos, but plenty of excellent sightseeing, dining, and entertainment options as well. The Tunica RiverPark, for example, features an interactive, interpretive center that showcases the rich history of the region, as well as a refurbished 19th century paddlewheeler called the Tunica Queen. The Queen offers daytime sightseeing cruises as well as evening dinner and dancing cruises. Sounds like a perfect way to appreciate the river. The Sheraton Casino and Hotel, located in the heart of Tunica Resorts, boasts 31,000 square feet of gaming space and seven great dining options to choose from, ranging from the casual Reno's Cafe to the elegant L.S. Louie's Steak House. Tunica is just 30 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee, home of the Westin Memphis Beale Street.
