The Palermo Viejo neighborhood in Buenos Aires is the city's hippest and most up-and-coming. Accordingly, it's the center of nightlife and shopping, but it's also becoming the neighborhood to go to for dinner. Many of the restaurants serve generic, European-style good food, but some are, in a way, branching out and serving traditional Argentinean dishes. The enormous pacu fish, like a piranha but much larger, is one speciality. Blood sausage and grilled cheese are also regaining popularity in the neighborhood, and for North American tourists it's also all very affordable. Two Starwood properties in Buenos Aires are the Park Tower and the Sheraton Libertador Hotel, both in equally lovely neighborhoods.
