I've written about fuel cell technology for cars, fuel cell technology powering hotel systems, and prototype fuel cell powered laptops. Well, here's a new one: a fuel cell charger for your iPod. Just kidding; the Automatic Battery Charger (ABC) from UK based energy company Voller is a lot more like a small portable generator. It weighs in at 9kg (nearly 20 pounds), is about the size of a briefcase and provides clean plentiful energy via a PEM fuel cell. It's capable of 200W peak AC or 65W continuous AC or DC, both US and EU standard voltages are provided as are a car-ligher socket and a mains wall socket. The kicker is it also can run 6W through a USB connection and charge MP3 players and other mobile devices. They say it's good for about a week of continuous power to your Pod.
