TomTom Go GPS Review

Thursday April 20, 2006

tomtom.jpgYou've probably seen the cutesy TV ads by now, but are wondering if the system is all it's cracked up to be. Ever the critics (and don't get me wrong I love them for it) Engadget have posted an extensive review of the top-of the line 910 model of the TomTom GO GPS system. Overall, the answer seems to be "Yes it is." These car-oriented GPS boxes are more or less ready to use right off the shelf, and won high marks for touchscreen functionality and Bluetooth capability, MP3 playback, a generous 20 gig drive and "extensive iPod integration." The only drawbacks are the reviewer's run-in with an outdated location database, and the $799 price tag. Click through the link for the gritty details.
