In culinary news, the Westin North Shore Hotel, scheduled for a 2007 opening, has begun dropping early hints as to what will be available for dining options. One of the first, and definitely the tallest, hotel developments of recent years on Chicago's North Shore, the Westin North Shore will contain 441 rooms erected in an 18 story stone tower. A recent piece in the local Wheeling Pioneer details the comments of developer Michael Frisel regarding the new restaurants that will be moving in with the hotel. Frisel hinted coyly at what might be the Westin's interior restaurant (quoth the Pioneer: "There are three or four world-renowned chefs in Chicago," he said. "One will operate at the Westin.") and additionally announced that upscale steakhouse Eddie Merlot's would occupy a restaurant building on the site. And that's good news for dedicated carnivores.
